Texturing and UV Mapping Homework

I learned quite a bit about UV Mapping and texturing that I didn’t know before. I learned how the texturing is just a flat image wrapping around the 3D model. What i thought it was before was each side having a flat texture associated, but the more i think about it, the less right it seems. I also learned how UV Mapping works. UV Mapping is what allows you to do the texturing. What you have to do is cut the parts of the model, paste them into a specific spot, unwrap them, fix them, all that, and then you can make the texturing. I never knew beforehand how that texturing stuff worked, and it’s really cool to figure out that it was UV Mapping that allowed all of that to work. It’s super cool how you like, cut different pieces off then apply the textures onto the cut flat surface spot that is now in the UV Editor.
