SkillsUSA Major Project: 7

Today I added some placeholder textures to all of my made mushrooms so far in Maya. These textures/colors will most likely be completely different as to what is seen now, as the final textures will probably be completely different colors and will have much better detail. I made these colors for now in order to have a little bit more vibrance on what the mushroom group might look like when finished.

Today, I worked even more on trying to add new mushroom types to Maya. The mushroom I made today was by far the hardest. The reason why making this mushroom was so hard was because of it’s spots. The mushroom itself has outward spots, and they are not even circles. Trying to put each one of them on was a pain, but I eventually just combined everything into one object so nothing can screw up.

Today, I worked on adding even more types of mushrooms to my Mushroom Forest SkillsUSA assignment in Maya. Unfortunately, I missed a day of working on this assignment due to being out sick, but I’m trying to make as much of it up as I can. Today, I tired creating two new mushrooms for the assignment. The first mushroom, the one with the huge dent, came out a bit weird, and I might either redo it or scrap it entirely. The second mushroom, the one with the whole in the middle, came out nicely, however it’s a bit too “perfect” in my opinion so I’ll have to make it a bit more wavy soon just like the first two mushrooms.

Today, I worked more on adding various types of mushrooms to my SkillsUSA Project in Maya. This time I’m trying to make the mushroom that kinda looks like a lollipop. So far, it should b ethe easiest one to make due to how low detailed it is, so it shouldn’t take too long. The other mushroom I had before I decided to hold off on for now until I start the texturing.

Today I started work on the SkillsUSA Major Assignment for Animation II. So far I just started working on some possible 3D designs for mushrooms. I have this really basic one so far, which I’m planning on adding finer details to. What I am going to be doing for the next few days is make some models, add some flair to them, and work on completing required objectives for my weekly notebook check.

SkillsUSA Major Project: Preplanning 5

Today, I’ve gotten some more stuff done on my pre-planning for this SkillsUSA assignment. I’ve started to make the template on our Project’s Notebook, and I’m focusing this entire week to working on it since we have a lot we need to do for this week, and technically every other week after. So far I’ve been able to write my expedition, and but some rough draft images and asset list.

SkillsUSA Major Project: Preplanning 4

Today, I was able to create a little basic scene based on what I’m envisioning for our SkillsUSA Project in Maya. What I did was that a created a small little box and creating a placeholder scene of what my final project should hopefully look somewhat like. I tried to create a placeholder shadow effect that would somewhat simulate how I want my final render to look like. In the render, I tried showing the mini mushrooms as well as the big mushrooms, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to add any other details I wanted.

SkillsUSA Major Project: Preplanning 3

Today, I didn’t really draw as may mushrooms because I was more on planning instead. I realized up to this point that I was just creating designs for the mushrooms, but not colors to match the blue-purple theme. I haven’t decided yet whether I’ll have a blue sky and purple grass, purple sky and blue grass, or a little bit of both. For the mushrooms, I might try to keep generic mushroom colors like brown, red, or white, but I may also expand to glowing mushrooms or more unique and crazy colors to match the unique grass and sky.
