12 Principles of Animation Animations: 4

Today, I worked even more on my 12 Principles of Animation assignment in Maya 2023. During today, I was able to fully create two principles, while having one of them rendered and finished. I also started work on a third one, however time ran out before I finished it. I only have two more principles left, that being Solid Drawing, the one I am currently working on, and Appeal. I’m really happy with how most of these are coming out, since they look better than animations I’ve done previously.

12 Principles of Animation Animations: 3

Today, I have gotten a lot more done with Animating the 12 Principles of Animation within Maya 2023. I continued with what I was working on yesterday and got it completely finished. The only trouble I had here is that the rendering took much longer because there were much more reflective lights in the scene. Luckily, I was able to move to another computer to continue work while this was going on. On top of this, I was able to make, animate, texture, and render the next principle of animation, so that’s going really well for me.

12 Principles of Animation Animations: 2

Today, I have gotten even more work done with Animating the 12 Principles of Animation within Maya 2023. For today, I was able to finish texturing and render 2 of the videos I have made so far. On top of that, I have started texturing the third video I have made, and have almost finished with that. I haven’t had any real issues yet, so I’m thankful for that. The rendering runs quite quick for these, so it isn’t too hard for me to render one and move on to the next.

12 Principles of Animation Animations: 1

Today, we finally were able to get Maya 2023 working and started our 12 Principles of Animation assignment for the class. To start, I currently have six of the principles combined into three videos, the rest will be separated into one for each. I have the Animation complete for the first 3 videos, however I have not started the texturing or rendering yet, so that is what I’m planning to do tomorrow. The 6 principles I have finished so far are Arc, Squash & Stretch, Follow Through, Anticipation, Staging, and Pose To Pose.

Lego Stop Motion Animation

Today was our first day finally back in this class. As of now, I am now in Animation 3, meaning I will now be working on more advanced assignments and working with Animation 2 students. What we did today, and what we usually do each year, is did a Stop Motion Animation of our choosing. After this, we will be getting on to some Maya refreshers before starting on actual assignments for the rest of the year, once we get our Maya accounts back that is.

Pirate Final Animation: FINAL

Today, we finally finished our Pirate Animation that we modelled and animated entirely using Maya. For the last few days, we had to rush quickly, as the school year was close to done and we had a lot to render. Luckily, Seth was able to render all of our missing scenes at his house, which is what saved us in the end. After we got those rendered, we noticed that a few chunks were still missing, so he rendered those as well. Finally, they were all put into a After Effects project, where I put in the Sounds and Madison put in the credits.

Pirate Final Animation: 20

Today, I was able to get the last movement for the “Kraken” finished and ready to be put into the rest of the Animation. This last scene of the “Kraken” will be him slowly squishing the Captain, and the scene will end. For the main project itself, we still have the animation coming along, and we are now trying to get some rendering done. The lightings of how the renders look really good, the rest.. not so much.

Pirate Final Animation: 17

Today, we have been able to get even more stuff with the ship in Maya. I was able to finish putting more objects on the ship, like Lights, Coins, Barrels, Boxes, Chairs, and much more. We have everything set up and ready to go, so now all we need to do is start animating. I think I enjoyed this part the most out of the entire Project, since not only was the process of making a ship more lively fun, but seeing it’s results with the lights and reflectivity was awesome also.
