Don’t Press The Red Button: 6

Today, we have gotten super close to finishing our group animation in Maya! Right now, we have After Effects set up. The hardest part that’s come from this was getting the frames to be imported in, as some seem to have gotten corrupted. Another thing, the rendering is taking a very long time to finish, so we still don’t have the 2nd half of the animation yet.

Don’t Push The Red Button: 5

Today, we’ve gotten more done with animating, and now we are onto rendering and sounds! Madison was absent today, but luckily all we can do for now is render. Seth was able to finish up the rest of animating and we are currently using each one of the computers to render.

Don’t Push The Red Button: 4

Today, we have been able to get more done with our Don’t Push the Red Button animation group assignment in Maya. Right now, we are super close to completion, and are currently rendering at this moment. Seth is back and is almost finished with the animation, so both Madison and I are rendering what he has finished in order to get the animation done quicker. After that, we just need to add sounds and edit the frames together, and we’re done!

Don’t Push The Red Button: 3

Today, we were able to make more stuff for our Don’t Press the Red Button group assignment in Maya. Seth hasn’t been here for the past 2 days, so luckily our time for doing this assignment has been extended. We have been able to import all of our objects into the scene and get it ready for Seth to animate when he comes back. I’ve started animating the robot’s rings a bit, just as a base, but that’s all.

Don’t Push The Red Button: 2

Today, we continued working on adding more to our Don’t Press the Red Button group project in Maya. So far, Seth has the robot done, I got my objects done, and Madison is putting things into the scene. The only problem I’ve had is UV Mapping, since I don’t remember how to do much of it since it’s been so long. luckily, the textures I have been making look fine, and fit for what we are working with.

nCloth Tutorials 2

Today, I got the rest of my nCloth tutorials finished in Maya. These were really enjoyable, as nCloth is one of the things I love the most in Maya. First, we went through the nCloth1_2 and 2_2 tutorials, which were simple and fun to do. After that, we did the flag, which I struggled a bit trying to get in the air, but wasn’t anything too troubling. Finally, we put the “dress” onto the Mini Man. For me, it turned out really well, and other than trying to model it, I didn’t have any issues at all.

nCloth Tutorials 1

Today, we started our nCloth Tutorials in Maya. Today, I was so far able to put a “dress” onto my Mini Man, as well as some other things beforehand like a flag and banner. The clothing I have for the Mini Man doesn’t look as good as I wish it would’ve looked, but it looks perfectly fine when physics are applied, so that’s good. My goal here is to have the clothing stay on when the man moves, and so far it’s looking good, so hopefully it will stay that way.

SkillsUSA Major Project: FINAL

This is my final product for the SkillsUSA Project we have been doing for Animation II. I’m really happy on how this final render turned out, with the detail and bump mapping on the mushrooms and how realistic the grass looks. One thing I wish I got done in time would be the detail on the stems of the mushrooms, since they are rather bland and undetailed, as well as the messed up bump mapping on the red mushrooms. The thing I liked the most would probably be the yellow-orange mushroom and the grass, since they both look extremely detailed. The thing that was probably hardest was actually the grass, no surprise there. The grass was made using xgen, but unfortunately xgen does not work with Maya 2020, so I had to use a different computer entirely in order to use Maya 2022.

SkillsUSA Major Project: 18

Today, I got more done on the texturing of objects in Maya. It’s almost time for this project to be turned in, so I’m doing whatever I can to finish what I have left in a quick and simple way so I at least have something to show. I was able to texture the ground and figure out how to bump map it, so now it at least has more detail than a blue plane. What I’m going to try and do now is duplicate the mushrooms I already have to create a larger scene, then see what I can due about the distance and the blank pink sky.
